Who We Are

OHOFN is a non-governmental, non-religious and non-political organization that provides social services such as counseling, psychosocial support, empowerment, legal aid, welfare support and skill acquisition to women, girls and youths in Nigeria.

Our Journey

Okolo Henry Obina Foundation for the Needy was founded in 2021 by Okolo Henry Obina, a dedicated humanitarian, community development professional, and security expert. With a passion for creating positive change, Okolo Henry Obina embarked on a mission to establish an organization that would address the pressing needs of vulnerable communities.

Milestones

-    ⁠2021: Okolo Henry Obina Foundation for the Needy was registered and launched its inaugural project, a medical outreach program in Madala community, Niger State, focusing on HIV and Hepatitis B awareness and treatment.

-    2021: The foundation successfully served approximately 400 individuals, including community leaders, and established partnerships with key stakeholders.

-    2022: The foundation expanded its scope to include community development, security interventions, and education, solidifying its commitment to holistic development.

-    ⁠2023: Okolo Henry Obina Foundation for the Needy collaborated with the Police Community Relations Committee (PCROC) and attracted a UN-Habitat project on the Safer Cities Program.

Our Impact

Through its initiatives, the foundation has:

-    Provided health services to over 1,000 individuals

-    Promoted education and skills development for vulnerable groups

-    Enhanced community security and safety through partnerships with security agencies

-    Empowered communities through social mobilization and economic empowerment programs.
